In this weekend’s edition of the MaineToday newspapers (Press Herald, Kennebec Journal and Morning Sentinel), once again Maine Democrats have used reporters as their political mouthpiece.
In a story by Emma Bouthillette, Democrat State Representative Cynthia Dill received publicity for a partisan left wing stunt. Last week Rep. Dill attempted to order the Veteran’s and Legal Affairs Committee to submit a bill to recall the Governor. This move was clearly a stunt- if Rep. Dill was interested in passing legislation she would have written the bill herself. Rep. Dill put this forward, knowing it would go nowhere, just to get herself in the news.
MaineToday kicked in as Rep. Dill’s personal PR machine. In their report they failed to speak to a single person on the other side of the aisle, instead they stuck with partisan democrats. They also failed to mention that Rep. Dill is a candidate for Senate District 7′s Special Election. But it even gets worse.
The article claims Rep. Dill’s “online petition” “went viral”, citing over 7000 signatures for the support of her Recall Stunt. What they don’t tell you is that the 7000 signatures were members of the notorious, left-wing, Soros funded group, Move On.org. They created the petition for Rep. Dill and sent it out to their membership list on her behalf.
As Republicans we have known that the Maine Media is often biased against us. But a new day has dawned in Maine, and we are not going to stand by and take it anymore.
Republicans have stepped up to lead this state after three decades of economic collapse, and we are going to make sure that the people of Maine know the real story. We need your help right now.
Contact the Editor of the Press Herald Angie Muhs and let her know that this kind of sloppy/biased reporting is not acceptable.
Contact the Owner of MaineToday Richard Connor and tell him that it is stories like this that lead republicans to believe his paper is biased. If he wants his paper to lose the stigma of being a “tool” of the Democrat Party, then his reporters have to be less biased in their reporting.
Media bias is something we cannot give a pass to any longer. The stakes for Maine are too high, the work ahead of us is too hard, to have partisan reporting deceiving the people of Maine. Please make your voice heard now, and thank you as always for your support.
