Knox County Republican Women to meet on Wednesday, April 9
|
The Knox County Republican Women will be holding their monthly meeting on Wednesday, April 9, at 7 p.m. at the Trade Winds Motor Inn, Rockland. Edward McLaughlin, President and CEO of the Maine Economic Research Institute (MERI), will be the guest speaker. MERI's research, analysis and reporting on economics issues provide all Maine voters valuable insight into both serving legislators and candidates. Mr. McLaughlin will be discussing the methodology used by MERI in formulating their ratings. He also will discuss bills currently before the legislature and the economic impact if passed. MERI conducts a survey of all candidates for legislative office who do not already have a MERI rating. Voters of all persuasion find the ratings provided by MERI to be a valuable tool for understanding the potential future of Maine's economy. The Knox County Republican Women wish to extend an open invitation to all voters to attend this important meeting and discussion. Though current legislators undoubtedly be occupied in Augusta as the current session draws to a close, many of the candidates seeking election to the state legislature are expected to attend this meeting. Light refreshments will be served.
