BREAKING: New Document Further Exposes Emily Cain’s Hypocrisy On Wealthy Donors and Dark-Money Groups
AUGUSTA
– The Maine Republican Party today released a document that further
exposes Emily Cain’s hypocrisy in her recent trip to Hollywood to attend
a private conclave with some of America’s richest political donors
which included, according to Politico, a top adviser at Soros Fund
Management, a Wall Street Hedge Fund.
Emily Cain has used her
work for ending Citizen’s United as a reputation builder, even going so
far as to secure an endorsement from End Citizens United, an
organization who explains their mission as follows:
“The Supreme
Court’s 2010 decision in Citizens United v. F.E.C. completely changed
the landscape of American elections. It further established the legal
basis for the idea that ‘corporations are people’ and opened the door
for billionaires and special interests to spend unlimited, untraceable
money in America’s elections.”- Endcitizensunited.org
This mission is echoed by Emily Cain through her December 2015 endorsement:
“If
we’re serious about getting Congress working again, we need to end the
secret money flowing to politicians in Washington. I’m excited to work
together with the people of Maine’s 2nd district and End Citizens United
because we cannot stand by and let the voices of everyday Americans be
drowned out by millionaires and billionaires.”
However, Ms. Cain’s statement rings hollow following last week’s news that she chose to go to Hollywood and attend a Democracy Alliance meeting, a group which charges its members $30,000 a year in dues and requires that they also make at least $200,000 in donations to chosen causes. Recently revealed Democracy Alliance members are CEO’s, heiresses to large fortunes and big bank executives.
The reason we have to use the term ‘recently revealed members’ is because not only is the Democracy Alliance a source of unlimited funding from some of the wealthiest people in America, it is intentionally secretive, allowing for its members to remain anonymous while they use the Democracy Alliance to essentially ‘launder’ their dark-money contributions into whichever cause they are being instructed to support. The recipients of the funds and the donors are required to stay silent about the organization’s involvement and activity.
“Emily Cain can’t be a darling of the liberal ‘billionaire club’ but still claim to oppose everything they stand for,” explained Maine GOP Executive Director Jason Savage. “Her application for support from End Citizens United perfectly exposes her hypocritical method of attacking Wall Street and wealthy donors while simultaneously cashing in on their financial support.”
It seems that Emily Cain feels free to say one thing and do another if it means she gets a chance to rub elbows with Wall Street CEO’s and secure the support of some Wall Street dark-money of her own. Review her application for her End Citizens United endorsement and decide for yourself.

It appears to us that Emily Cain’s position on money in politics, and the influence of millionaires and billionaires in the political process changes on who Ms. Cain is talking to, and what they have to offer her.
