Senator King And Congresswoman Pingree Draft Plan To Fix Obamacare
Maine’s Democrat Delegation hits key points on how Democrats plan to fix the Affordable Care Act
Augusta - The Maine GOP announced it has acquired a draft copy of Senator Angus King and Congresswoman Chellie Pingree’s outline today on how they plan to fix the rising cost of premiums and high deductibles, among other failings, of The Affordable Care Act as it enters a death spiral of higher premiums, less coverage, fewer doctors and fewer choices for patients.
“With dramatically rising premium costs and sky-high deductibles, Obamacare is imploding. The average person can’t afford the ‘Affordable Care Act’, and Republicans seem to be the only ones attempting to fix this massive failure of a program,” said Maine GOP Executive Director Jason Savage.
“Just this past week we saw that Harvard Pilgrim will be raising premium costs by another 39.7%,” continued Savage, “I am not surprised by Senator King and Congresswoman Pingree’s plan, as it seems to reflect the Democratic Party talking points on the Affordable Care Act which are to say the least, disappointing.”
“While every one of Maine’s Obamacare insurers is seeking a premium increase of 20-40%, this plan is the best Rep. Pingree and Sen. King could come up with.”
