AUGUSTA - The Maine Republican Party today announced that Senator Marco Rubio has qualified for the March 5, 2016, Presidential Nominating Caucus Ballot.
Senator Rubio, a United States Senator from Florida, and the son of hard-working Cuban immigrants, submitted his filing to the Maine Republican Party on December 15.
“Marco Rubio's story is so incredibly inspiring,” said Maine GOP Chairman Rick Bennett. “His career is a perfect example of what can be accomplished in our great nation, and Maine Republicans understand the importance of ensuring these opportunities for future generations. We welcome Marco Rubio to the contest here in Maine. We look forward to his inspiring message about a New American Century being heard by Maine Republicans.”
Marco Rubio's Maine State Chairman, Republican House Leader Ken Fredette, who submitted the filing for Senator Rubio, said, “I’m honored to secure Marco Rubio’s place in Maine’s caucuses,” said Rep. Fredette, Maine State Chairman for the Rubio Campaign. “Marco is an uplifting leader and his vision for a New American Century will keep our country strong and safe in the 21st Century. I look forward to helping Marco win Maine.”
The Maine GOP Presidential Nominating Caucus will be held Saturday, March 5th, from 9 AM until 7 PM at sites across the state of Maine. Candidates will compete for a direct allocation of delegate votes to the Republican National Convention in Cleveland, Ohio, where the Republican candidate for President of the United States will be officially nominated.
