Senator's history fighting for gun rights, US Constitution, stand out as
key issues to Maine Republican voters
AUGUSTA – The Maine GOP today announced that United States Senator Ted Cruz has qualified for the Maine Republican Party Presidential Nominating Caucus Ballot.
“Senator Cruz's career fighting to defend the United States Constitution and the Second Amendment rights of the American people are issues we expect Maine Republicans will embrace. Senator Cruz has stood strong on his principles throughout his career, and we enthusiastically welcome him to Maine's nominating contest,” said Maine GOP Chairman Rick Bennett, welcoming Senator Cruz to the race.
“I am excited to know that we’ve qualified for the ballot in Maine. We are running a nationwide grassroots campaign focusing on earning the support of every vote and every delegate, and taking nothing for granted. As a result, we are seeing an outpouring of help from courageous conservatives and expect that we will be very competitive come March 5th,” said U.S. Senator Ted Cruz.
The Maine GOP Presidential Nominating Caucus will be held Saturday, March 5th, from 9 AM until 7 PM at sites across the state of Maine. Candidates will compete for a direct allocation of delegate votes to the Republican National Convention in Cleveland, Ohio, where the Republican candidate for President of the United States will be officially nominated.
