Augusta - Today, Democrats continued to show they are not aligned with the people of Maine as they showcased four candidates for the Maine Senate.
In response to the event, Senate President Michael Thibodeau (R-Waldo) said, "It's disappointing that Democrats have decided to inject political campaigning into the State House atmosphere before we begin our work in the Legislature. There will be plenty of time for campaigning after we complete our important work and adjourn this spring."
Senate Majority Leader Garrett Mason (R-Androscoggin) added, “Today’s event made clear that Democrats have nothing new to offer the Maine people. Their failed candidates and policies from the past are returning for 2016, and it is astonishing they think that the sequel will fare better than the original. Mainers want welfare reform - Democrats blocked it last session. Mainers want us to continue working for tax relief - Democrats keep voting to expand government and increase regulations. Senate Republicans will continue working for positive, constructive policies throughout 2016 and we look forward to comparing our records with those of Democrat candidates.”
