Maine GOP Chairman Richard Bennett issued the following statement on today’s Legislative Council meeting:

“It is discouraging and disheartening to see Democratic leadership frustrate progress on Riverview and the individuals it treats daily.

Incoming Speaker Sarah Gideon is capitalizing on an obscure technicality straight from the Democrats’ playbook. In doing so, they are denying healthcare to some of Maine’s most vulnerable citizens, and enabling a system which allows those most in need to be denied the care that they so desperately seek.”
